Apple reveals reasons for buying Beats

According to the VP Cue, there are three prominent reasons for making such a move; Talent, great headphones and Beats Music.

Okay so we have heard of Apple’s decision to buy Beats in a deal of $3 billion and it has been a while but there is still one thing on all our minds; why did Apple make such a deal? Looks like our queries have been answered finally as Apple Senior VP Eddy Cue and Beats CEO and co-founder Jimmy Iovine sat down with Recode’s Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher at the Code Conference to discuss the confirmed news. According to the VP Cue, there are three prominent reasons for making such a move; Talent, great headphones and Beats Music.

These three reasons were further described in detail by Cue who said that the decision was a ‘no-brainer’ for them. So apple thinks that the Beats team is going to be a great asset for the company and considering how great of an Artists Dr. Dre is, his addition to the company will be valuable. Apple also wants to have good speakers as well as headphones which completely change the experience of hearing music and we all know where the Beats headphones stand. Lastly, Cue mentioned that that this is the “first music subscription service done right.” To Cue, the magic is in the ability to curate songs and listen to playlists.

Well, this was Apple’s side of the story. But we also want to know what Beats had in mind. So from Jimmy Iovine’s point of view, it was important to hand over Beats to a company who has a strong respect for music and make their hardware perfect for it. Talking about Apple, he said that “These guys get it. They respect what we do. They respect copyright. They respect the entire food chain.”
