- Apple Is Reportedly Working On A New Larger iPad
It has been reported that the Apple is working on making a new iPad which will feature a larger 12 inch screen, split-screen mode and multi-user login support.
Looks like Apple has finally found out what the people wanted. They used to make small screen iPhones when their competitors were gaining a larger portion of the market share by making larger phones. Last year they started to make big iPhones and they were a success.
Their latest iPhone featured a 5 inch screen and it was an instant hit. Now Apple is thinking about making larger iPads. They are reportedly working on a new 12-inch iPad. The new iPad is said to feature new features which the other 9.7 inch and 7.9 inch iPads didn’t feature.
9to5Mac reported that with the new iPad you will be able to use two apps at once. According to 9to5Mac, these software features might be unveiled at Apple’s WWDC conference which is this June. These new iPads will reportedly come to the stores later this year.
The iPhone sales were a hit last year and Apple gained a lot of profit. The iPad sales have not been that great. The company sold 12.6 million iPad units last year. These are really bad figures as some of the analysts thought that around 15 million units would be sold last year.
The main reason people used to buy iPads was because they wanted to use Apple products with a larger screen. Now that they got larger screen iPhones with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 +, they stopped buying the iPads.
Now we will have to wait and see whether the large 12 inch iPad would revive the flagging sales or not. Some sources say that Apple is planning to show the side by side feature for iOS 9.
The new split screen feature is said to support ½, 1/3 and 2/3 views which will depend on the apps. So now you can open two browser tabs on the screen at the same time and you can compare different items.
