Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a very human role in a new zombie movie that will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival soon.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the famed bodybuilder, actor and former Governor of California has done a good thing by appearing in an emotional film for a change. He was known for his Terminator series of movies that portrayed him as an android robot that had no feelings and simply obeyed the commands of his human master.

But after much criticism from various quarters for his cold-as-steel role in those films, Arnold thought he would do a movie that tugged at the heartstrings instead. Believe it or not, but the strong-nerved Arnie even lets loose a couple of tears of anguish in this latest movie that will be launched at the Tribeca Film Festival pretty soon.
Titled Maggie, it is about Arnold being the father of a daughter who contracts a deadly cannibalistic virus that will convert her into a flesh-eating zombie with the passage of time.
Now Arnold faces a tough trio of choices: he can cure her, which is his first option, or he can save her from the state and police authorities which are out to eliminate her…finally, the third choice is to kill her with a shotgun which is something unthinkable for the bereaved father. Abigail Breslin plays the role of Maggie, Arnold’s daughter in the film.
As Arnold refuses to face reality head on as he used to in his earlier macho action movies, he is shown in an existential dilemma where he truly feels helpless and at a loss as to what to do. The man cannot bear parting from his beautiful daughter and is horrified to see her becoming a meat-eating monster with each passing day.
He tries his utmost to defy the authorities since he has promised his daughter’s mother that he will protect her till his last days alive on earth. And then the rangers and soldiers come to raid Arnold’s home and drag away his zombie daughter.
The movie is a truly heart-wrenching and epic performance that depicts the brutal ethical and moral struggle going on in Arnold’s head and heart as he tries to weigh his tough choices.
He is left in a state of hopelessness and extreme chagrin thanks to the no-exit situation he finds himself in. Arnold later on said on his Facebook that he was glad he had made the movie. It was a human film and he also praised Abigail Breslin for her wonderful acting as his daughter Maggie in the movie.
I’m really proud of my new film, Maggie. This is the most human zombie film you’ve ever seen, and it’s the most human…Posted by Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday, March 25, 2015
