The miniscule computer is available for pre order at a price of $179 and the first order will be shipped in from the 14th of March
The simplicity of the ASUS’ Chromebox is surely a bit too enticing and now you would be thrilled to know that this miniscule computer can be picked up very soon. The Chrome OS desktop which has been priced at $179 is currently available for pre order at stores like Amazon, Newegg and TigerDirect. And the first wave of orders will be shipping in from the 14th of March.
The base system starts with a modest 1.4GHz Celeron and has 2 GB in its RAM but you can also splurge for the Core i3 model if you wish. It is to be noted here that the Core i7 variant is not going to be available stateside. More importantly, you should not expect the machine to be completely silent and AnandTech has understood pretty well that none of the Chromeboxes are fanless, as opposed to some expectations.
