The new Asus VivoWatch HC-A01 fitness smartwatch will make its debut at Milan Design Week.
What do you see when you look around? Smartwatches and smartwatches everywhere. Well, that’s what the new trend is all directed towards so we cant really blame the manufacturers who blindly follow it. ASUS is once again hitting the floor with its new smartwatch which is slightly different from its previous Android Wear powered ZenWatch because this one focuses on fitness tracking.
ASUS’s latest watch VivoWatch is going to make its debut at Milan Design Week and the manufacturer claims it will come with 10 days of battery life and secretly we are all hoping inside that this is true. Jonney Shih, the chairman of the company, has been throwing hints at us regarding a longer battery life and considering that the company is planning for a fitness focused device with a lower power processor, we are quite sure this could be a high possibility.
Getting onto more details about the event, the Design Week is scheduled to take place from April 14–19, 2015 at Milano Via Tortona 20 where the ASUS Design Center will be presenting its Zensation exhibition. The exhibition provides a platform to showcase its newest products which will make their way to the market sooner or later, among these being the Zen-inspired products ZenFone 2, Transformer Book T300 Chi, and ZenBook UX305 in addition to many other products. Other interesting products include the Thin and Light Laptop, 4K Notebook, Tablet, Wearable, Ultra-Compact Desktop PC, Monitor and Projector, and Networking categories.
The chairman has also revealed that the new watch isn’t going to run on the Android Wear and this is exactly what the images revealed thus far show. The features of this new mystery software haven’t been revealed as yet and we also don’t have enough on the hardware. However, we do know that VivoWatch is going to be equipped with a stainless steel body, an IP67 rating against dust and water damage, heart-rate monitoring and sleep tracking.
The smartwatch might end up having a premium version or something similar but till then we all believe that it has been placed against the likes of FitBit and the rest and not against the Android Wear devices.
