The memoir, which is scheduled to publish in 2017, will cover both personal and professional life of the iconic figure
Barbara Streisand will turn her life story into a memoir, which will reflect not only her six decade long celebrated career but will provide a peek into her personal life as well.
The memoir is scheduled to publish in 2017, according to the Viking, the publishing company.
“There are over 50 unauthorized biographies about Ms. Streisand that are full of myths and inaccuracies, and she finally going to tell her own story. Viking president and publisher Brain Tart said in statement. “I am thrilled and honored to be publishing her at Vikings.”
The life of 73-year old iconic singer, actor and director has been penned many times before but since those are not written with the coordination and assistance of Streisand or the people close to her; they lack authenticity and contain material which is inaccurate and sometimes misleading as well. Streisand also have reacted harshly to some of those un-authorized biographies.
In 2006, Christopher Anderson published a biography titled “Barbra: The Way She Is.” In the response to that unauthorized biography, Streisand wrote in her website.
“Normally, I would not dignify vicious, mean-spirited mythology masquerading as biography. But it seems this latest rehash of other unauthorized biographies is getting a lot of attention.”
She wrote further. “Who is the person described in this book? From what has been told to me, certainly not anyone I know. This stereotypic image bears little resemblance to me or anything about me.”
It seems Streisand has released that writing a memoir is a better way to deal with all the unauthorized stuff. The memoir, which is not titled yet, will help remove misperceptions which has been created about her personality and let the people understand better who she is.
Barbra Streisand started her career back in 1960s. She is among one of the few entertainers who have won Oscars, Grammy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy Awards as an admiration to their contributions.
