It turns out that many times things are not what they seem at first glimpse. Whole food enthusiast and nature freak Belle Gibson apparently faked her brain cancer diagnosis in order to drum up support for the health food industry.
Many times we are deceived by what appears to be common sense masquerading as uncommon wisdom. Take the diet industry. You will find as many opinions as there are individuals on the planet.
From Raw Food to Atkins all the way to disgusting alternatives such as the Slow Carb Diet and Fruitarianism, there are so many snake oils sold by freak doctors on the planet that it is hardly any surprise that obesity is the #1 pandemic and depression the #1 mental illness.
When you forgo wholesome nutritious traditional slow food that satisfies and satiates and is eaten in the context of an extended family setting of love and brotherhood, obviously you will get such diseases that are the products of loneliness, isolation and the hate-ridden anarchic atmosphere of our late capitalist times.
All that is needed is a modicum of moderation and a return to reality and faith in the natural goodness of humanity.
Take the fraudulence of Belle Gibson, a wellness advocate and huge bully for the health food industry. She had been showing the world evidence on her many blogs and media outlets regarding how she had healed her brain cancer by eating fresh natural foods and drinking all sorts of juices and soups.
But, according to The Australian Women’s Weekly, it turns out it was all nothing but a big fat lie. She had faked her whole diagnosis like so many P.T. Barnum followers in the past. Barnum, a circus owner, was right all along about a sucker being born every minute.
The gullibility and fickleness of the crowds that inhabit the planet today is simply without any limits. And when Belle Gibson was questioned as to why she had done such a morally offensive thing, she replied that it was a mistake and she just could not take the pressure of concealing the lie anymore.
Thus she had to come out with the truth and this was a big burden off her chest. However, one thing she has to be commended on is that it was the right thing to do. As they say, better late than never.
According to BoingBoing, Belle threw fool’s gold dust into the eyes of her worshippers who followed her every word in matters of dietetics. She had not actually healed her so-called cancer by avoiding wheat and sugar but by undergoing ten thousand other mainstream allopathic treatments.
And these included within their ranks, chemotherapy and tons of drugs that just killed the cancer. And now an even more fantastic and strange fact has surfaced. Belle claims that she forgot whether she had cancer or not.
This makes her disease seem to be psychiatric in nature. She is a victim of Munchausen Syndrome where the patient fakes the disease so well that he or she gets away with it ( to the extent of even fooling professional physicians in the process).
Belle is certainly one very sick woman even if she /4/look healthy on the outside. She has just enabled the entire medical establishment with its pesky medical model to thumb its nose at the alternative medicine industry as a huge illusion of phantasmagoria that is out to mislead the common people.
Now, all the Deepak Chopras and Doctor Oz’s of the world can get their comeuppance since they have also sold the ordinary individual on the street a load of horse crap.
It appears to be the case that this mass huckster named Belle Gibson had a tough childhood where she never had any access to toys (or love). And so she had gone down the wearisome path of pathological lying and created an app which was gaining a massive following.
Finally, when the ledger of lies got too heavy and cumbersome to handle, she blurted out the bitter truth. She has made the world wary of such false prophets and has made the case for a scientific study of cancer instead of a wishy washy nutcase nutritional approach the norm for today and tomorrow.
While no prosecution has occurred so far, the Internet has gone head over heels in condemning her for her shameful concealment of reality. The Independent has mentioned how her juice fasts and detox diet have turned out to be silly fads after all.
Furthermore, according to Yahoo Health, she was the author of a cookbook and The Whole Pantry, an advice column on the best foods for beating cancer. The fact that it was all a wispy dream wrapped up in an enigmatic shell which was further trapped in a riddle only goes to show you that all that glitters is not gold.
There is reality and than there is appearance. The world’s citizens would be better off differentiating between the two. Let that be the lesson we take from this stupid and senseless lady who has shown the mirror to most tree-hugging environmentalist diet nuts who are creating anorexic and bulimic adolescents as well as unrealistic consumers of uneatable foods everywhere on spaceship earth.
A few people have asked us about how Australian Women’s Weekly gained the Belle Gibson interview. Listen to Helen McCabe, editor of AWW discuss the interview. (this is a repost from yesterday)Posted by Belle Gibson Uncovered on Thursday, April 23, 2015
