New York Liberty head coach and former Detroit Pistons center Bill Laimbeer told The Dan Patrick Show on /4/28 he’d take LeBron James over Michael Jordan.

If it were up to Bill Laimbeer, he would take LeBron James over Michael Jordan.

This was what Laimbeer told the Dan Patrick Show (via ESPN) on /4/28:

“There’s no question I would take LeBron James. He can do more. Michael Jordan could score and make big shots and look spectacular at times with wild-flying dunks, but LeBron can get you 18 rebounds. LeBron can get you 15 assists if he chooses to, or he can score 50 if he wanted to.

“So the triple threat he poses is just phenomenal, and then the size that he’s got — he just physically dominates. It’s impressive.”

Laimbeer and his Detroit Pistons teammates tried to wear Jordan out with their physical style of play during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Pistons and Chicago Bulls squared off in four straight consecutive playoff series, with the latter prevailing in the first three, per ESPN.

Laimbeer told Patrick that will not work with James:

“You can’t knock him down. He’ll knock you down. No one’s ever seen a physical specimen like LeBron. Six-foot-eight, 285 (pounds), strong, jumps out of the gym, runs like the wind. Man, I’m in awe of this guy.

Although Jordan has six NBA championship rings to James’ two, Laimbeer argued the former couldn’t have lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Finals like the latter did this year, per ESPN:

“Yeah, but you look at what LeBron has in the Finals right now. Anybody else in this league…could they have led the team that he has around him right now to the Finals? I don’t think so. Jordan couldn’t have led this team to the Finals.

“LeBron came into the league knowing how to play basketball and involve his teammates. Jordan has to learn that, and that they had to assemble some great teammates around him in order for him to win.”

In another development, James and his Cavaliers teammates earned the ire of rapper Lil B after they recorded a video of themselves jumping into a hot tub celebrating their series-clinching 118-88 Game 4 win in the Eastern Conference Finals over the Atlanta Hawks on /4/26.

According to The Cleveland Plain Dealer’s John Petkovic, James and Co. celebrated in a hot tub after they swept the Hawks by peforming the “cooking dance,” the same one which originated from Lil B.

Petkovic says Lil B, who “is renowned for his social media prowess and generosity when it comes to putting curses on people,” threatened to curse the Cavaliers if they didn’t give him due credit for the dance moves the team pulled off.

Cavaliers forward Iman Shumpert reached out to Lil B on Twitter to make amends.

However, Lil B told TMZ Sports on /4/27 James could still be in trouble if he himself doesn’t reach out to him after the 2015 NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors:

“LeBron has a big problem. Stop stealing Lil B swag. I send major respect to Iman Shumpert for being truthful and brave enough to tell where he gets this swag in this sports celebration…the Lil B cooking dance.

“And I’m really trying to prevent the curse fro happening to LeBron James. They need to talk to Lil B before the playoffs are over. And if they don’t, LeBron James, you have problems.”

Houston Rockets guard James Harden is the most recent NBA player to suffer the Lil B Curse. In Houston’s 104-90 Game 5 loss to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals on /4/27, he scored just 14 points on 2-of-11 shooting and committed a playoff record 13 turnovers, per The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Petkovic says Lil B was in attendance at Oracle Arena in Oakland for Game 5 to watch Harden play one of the worst games of his career.
