Bill Murray attended George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s wedding ceremony. When asked what he bought his co-star from Monument Men and his beautiful bride, he replied ‘nothing’. Supposedly the couple asked Bill and some other guests to skip the shopping for their wedding present and just come to attend the wedding.
Everyone loves Bill Murray. The Ghostbusters’ star could make anyone burst with laughter. The 64 years-old actor has a series of amazing performances in his wake and when you are that talented, you make talented friends.
One of those talented friends includes the recently married Oscar winning actor, George Clooney. George and Bill worked alongside each other in the war drama Monument Men. We can anticipate that the stars interacted on set and became close friends.
Taking that into account, we can understand that Bill was invited to George and Amal’s wedding in Venice, Italy. When the press asked Bill what he had gotten for the happy couple as a wedding gift, Bill sufficed to say nothing.
He added further that George and Amal asked him and other guests not to waste their time buying a wedding gift. They should just come and attend the wedding. I guess George and Amal really do believe in the essence of presence being the most important thing of all.
Upon asking, Bill admitted that he got a little moist during the ceremony. He said he could get teary. Being at his age, getting emotional is a given especially when you’re not married and you see one of your pals say their vows.
According to Bill, he stays regularly at George’s place when he goes to L.A. and George pays him back with pranks and told the press about a prank George pulled on him on his last trip which included luggage and gravel.
I guess Bill’s presence keeps the kid inside George alive. Bill’s a guy who’d laugh along with your jokes. Bill said that George and Amal are a happy couple and all the people that were present during their ceremony truly wish for them to be happy together, himself included.
