Birdman starring Michael Keaton got the Oscar for Best Picture last night the Oscars 2015 in Los Angeles. Birdman beat Boyhood, our favorite for the Best Picture Award. Birdman was though 2nd on our list. It is the big comeback story of 2014. Keaton did though not win an Oscar for Actor in a Leading Role. He lost out against Eddie Redmayne, who played Stephen Hawking in the Theory of Everything.

The director of Birdman Alejandro G. Inarritu received the Oscar for Directing. Birdman also scored an Oscar for Cinematography. The fourth Oscar for Birdman is in Writing.

Birdman is already out on Blu-ray and DVD. Michael Keaton plays a washed up actor, who once played an iconic superhero named Birdman. He battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his acting career and himself in the time leading up to the opening of a Broadway play, which is his big chance.

The Grand Budapest Hotel also got four Oscars, but in less prominent categories. Boyhood is the big loser of last night’s Academy Awards with only one Oscar. Patricia Arquette got honored with the best actress in a supporting role.
