The Black Friday sales phenomenon was long thought to not take on outside of the United States. This year Black Friday is though predicted to become the biggest online shopping day ever in Great Britain. Amazon and Apple are to thank for it that Black Friday has grown over the past couple of years to a major sales event. Now not only US based companies offer Black Friday sales in the UK but also local retailers like John Lewis and Asda.
According to a new report on The Telegraph, Amazon plans to offer 3,000 deals during the Black Friday deals week in the UK. This 10x the number of deals offered in 2010 when Amazon began to promote Black Friday in Europe.
Besides Black Friday, Cyber Monday has also been exported to Europe. UK has though also a Manic Monday, which is on the second Monday of December that is gaining in popularity.
Meanwhile in the United States Black Friday has grown to a month long sales season. Several retailers are offering Black Friday sales since November 1.
