The latest album by Brandon Flowers ‘The Desired Effect’ snags the number one spot on the UK album charts.
Brandon Flowers has long been a name associated with indie rock and it comes as no surprise that yet another album by the incredibly talented artist has topped the Britain charts. Brandon Flowers the front-man of the band The Killers has been topping the UK album charts with his second solo album.
Flowers is still a part of the indie band The Killers but decided to go solo in 2010 and it seems he’s in luck as his album is gracing the chart waves. The album sky rocketed to the number one position on Sunday and the news was first confirmed by the Official Charts Company.
The first solo album by Flowers which is entitled ‘The Desired Effect’ has been a hit already. The first solo album by Flowers was released in 2010 by the name of ‘Flamingo’ and it also topped the UK album chart.
This makes ‘The Desired Effect’ Flower’s second solo album to top the chart and his sixth album to top a chart if we combine his album successes with his band ‘The Killers’.
‘The Desired effect’ came on top with a total of 5000 combined chart sales amidst tough competition. The biggest competitor faced by Flower on the UK album chart was fellow indie artist Paul Weller but Flower’s secured the top spot in the end.
Paul Weller’s album entitled ‘Saturn’s Pattern’s’ debuted at the number two spot on the UK album charts while it is the rock veteran Weller’s 16th album to be featured in the top ten of the UK album chart. While the previous week’s number one album ‘Wilder Mind’ by the Mumford & Sons slipped to the number three spot.
