- CBS to Debut 5 New Series in 2015-2016 Season but Cancels CSI
CBS will debut five new series in the 2015-2016 TV season but cancels the ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’!
The CBS recently revealed its list of cancelled and new shows along with their broadcast times. CBS will showcase five new series in the next TV season but it has cancelled one of its strong shows ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’. Many of the renewed shows have been revealed to be in their previous time slots and schedules have not been changed for the returning shows.
Out of the five new shows by CBS, three will debut in September such as the comedy show ‘Life in Pieces’ and two dramas ‘Limitless’ and ‘Code Black’. The other two new series include ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Angel from Hell’ both of which will premiere in November.
The series ‘Limitless’ has been adapted by the Bradley Cooper movie of the same name. Bradley Cooper is also one of the producers on the series and will also be featured in the pilot of the new show.
The new show ‘Supergirl’ on the other hand is a coming of age story of a girl with superhuman powers. Supergirl is the cousin of Superman and the show will show her journey into a superhero to protect the earth. One of the new shows is also based on a comic book and will feature the Glee star Jane Lynch in ‘Angel from Hell’.
Some of the fan favourite shows returning to CBS include ‘The Big Bang Theory’, ‘NCIS’ including ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ & ‘New Orleans’, ‘Elementary’, ‘Scorpion’ and ‘CSI: Cyber’.
‘The Big Bang Theory’ will return for broadcast on its Monday night slot along with ‘NCIS’ but its spin-offs will be featured on Thursday. CBS has however cancelled the ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ and the finale will be aired on the 27th of September with a two hour special broadcast.
