3D professionals can submit their designs for printables compatible with the watch
We are once again in the era of the wrist watches, the only exception being that the watches we are using now are much smarter than what they used to be a decade earlier. Initially, it was our own extensive use and over-dependence on the smartphones which led to the declining trend of watches and now we are the ones to bring them back to the scene. However, the industry hadn’t seen so much of a stir as it did when Apple pulled out its bedazzling Apple Watch from behind the curtains.
Many third party sources have also greatly benefitted from this as they make preparations to roll out accessories exclusively for the Apple Watch. CGTrader, the Lithuania-based online 3D printing company’s preparations are going in full swing to step up the game and has further increased the excitement about the launch of the watch. The company says that they hope “to open a new opportunity window for talented 3D artists seeking additional income.”
The company is hosting a competition which is encouraging entrants from the world of 3D printing to create 3D printable objects which can be compatible with the upcoming Apple Watch. Experienced 3D designers are encouraged to submit their designs in the completion which is going to end on April 11th and these products can include “watch stands, cases, buckles and straps, travel pouches” and any other related accessory.
CGTrader’s website is going to display the best designs in a separate accessories collection which will be dedicated to the launch of the watch. If you are going to upload your design to CGTrader then make sure you check the “apple-challenge” box. You need to upload your design with a tagged model so it is counted in the competition.
CGTrader’s website is going to offer credits and cash prizes for the winners and those who are going to win the Best Model and Best Portfolio categories will receive 3Doodler 2.0 printing pens. For the runners up, there is going to be some cash, CGTrader credit, and promotion of their designs.
