A Chinese billionaire celebrated the 20th anniversary of his company by taking 6,400 of his staff a vacation to Paris.

Chinese businessman and CEO of the group ‘Tiens’ Li Jinyuan invited 6,400 of his employees to a vacation in Paris. Tiens bought up 140 hotels in Paris and 4,760 rooms in Cannes and Monaco. Bad luck for tourists trying to visit the Louvre at the same time the Tien employees lined up. According to the Daily Mail, the huge company trip cost about $34 million. The French economy can use it.

The huge tourist group also set a new Guinness World Record. On the Promenade des Anglais in Nice they created world’s biggest human made phrase. It said Tien’s Dream is Nice in the Cote D’Azur. Tiens is a multinational conglomerate, mainly operating in biotechnology, logistics, finance, property, international trade, retail, e-business, education and tourism.

Tiens Chain

Tiens sets a good example to treat its employees to such an experience. Chinese companies have a sweat shop image that they have to lose. Apple partners like Foxconn should take the Tiens France trip as inspiration. The reports we have seen about labor conditions making the iPhone and other Apple gadgets have been more than problematic. Right now we do not see such reports in the media, which does not mean that there are no issues anymore.
