Rapper Common joins the cast of the film ‘Suicide Squad’.
‘Suicide Squad’ is a film based on the DC Comics super villains and the rapper Common has been recruited for a role in the film. The action movie will be directed by David Ayer which features a collection of superstars in the roles of DC villains.
It has been confirmed by THR that the Oscar winning rapper Common recently closed a deal to appear in the film ‘Suicide Squad’ with the producers. Further details upon Common’s character in the film were not revealed as to which role he will play.
‘Suicide Squad’ already contains a wide variety of super-stars such as Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.
Other stars signed up for the ‘Suicide Squad’ in various roles include Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne, Joel Kinnaman, Viola David, Adam Beach, Ike Barinholtz, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje for different roles in ‘Suicide Squad’.
Jesse Eisenberg and Ben Affleck /4/also appear in cameos as they play Lex Luther and Ben Affleck respectively. The story of ‘Suicide Squad’ follows the fate of the villains after they had been imprisoned.
The DC villains are all recruited from jail for their abilities in order to help a secret government agency to perform a covert operation. It remains to be seen whether Common will play one of the legendary DC Comic villains or a supporting role in the film. The film will be a new take on the potentials of the DC collection of villains as the government will need their expertise.
The film is in production phase currently in Toronto, Canada. Common has previously starred in action films but his most notable role was last year in the film ‘Selma’ for which he won the Academy Award for the Best Original Score.
