Tarzan and Jane routine couldn’t keep Michael Waltrip and Emma Slater safe. Waltrip-Slater got eliminated while Parrish Chmerkovskiy scored immunity.

- The contestants performed in dance-offs at the end of the show to earn extra points.
It was the Dynamic Duos performing on the floor on Dancing with the stars and we saw the contestants take on the most famous couples in history and dance their way to save their spots in the show. It was fun to see the stars dress up and dance as various characters.
Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy performed a contemporary routine as Romeo and Juliet. The judges loved the performance and earned Janel and Val a perfect 40 from the judges who called the performance ‘highly ambitious but gorgeous in every way.” Anaba called it Val’s best choreography on the show.
Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev performed a Jazz Bonnie and Clyde routine that impressed the judges over-all and they called them a Faye-Dance Away. The couple scored a 32 from the judges.
Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd did a Johnny Cash paso-doble that failed to inspire the judges. The star got 26 points. He got told that he didn’t know the content of the performances that he did on the floor.
Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas were the first couple of the evening that scored a 38 with their contemporary adaptation of Adam and Eve. It was a testament of Ballas’s exceptional choreopraphy skills and it impressed the judges over-all.
The second couple to receive a 38 was Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson who cha-cha ed away to Carson’s Robin. “Alfonso rocks Gotham City!” as alter-ago zip lined Batman and the judges called it a meant to be performance.
Bethany Mota and Derek Hough rocked Ricardo Kitchen as Kelly and Ricky with a hot salsa and the judges perceived it to be a very perceptible performance. The couple scored 37 points for their performance.
The not so good performance was that of Michael Walstrip and Emma Slater who performed a fox-trot as Tarzan and Jane. The performance failed to win the judges over mostly because it failed to capture the essence of the theme and Waltrip’s stoic poise and rigidity which made the performance lacking. The dance-off were no saving grace for the couple either when they lost to Chong and Murgatroyd despite Chong’s stiff performance.
Other dance offs saw Mota and Hough as victors over Robertson and Ballas. Both the couples were ahead of the sound track but the competition was very close to call for the judges and Mota and Hough won it at the end.
The last dance off was between Ribeiro and Carson versus Thompson and Chmerkovskiy for a jive. Thompson and Chmerkovskiy were outperformed by Ribeiro and Carson who were declared the winners.
Overall scores left Waltrip and Slater out of their league and out of the show. Waltrip said that he was happy to be a part of the show and sad that he was leaving. He had definitely loved working with Slater.
Slater in turn said that Waltrip was a man with a big heart who had changed her life and she would leave the show a changed person. The racer definitely deserves credit for coming this far on the show. Janel and Val secured immunity at the end for being the highest scorers on the show.
