Dodge wants its entire educational fleet crushed

Dodge has made a decree that won’t sit well with car guys and gals around the world no matter what brand you prefer. Dodge gave a bunch of vipers to community colleges and schools over the years for their technical programs.

Apparently, Dodge ran into a bit of trouble when students took the cars or joyrides and ended up in accidents early on in the program. Since Dodge gave the cars to the schools, apparently they have the final say over what happens to the cars.

The final say of Dodge at this point is that they want all 93 of these early Viper cars crushed in the next two weeks reports Motor Authority. One of the cars is very rare and would bring a bunch of money on the open market. This car is a blue and white 1992 Viper pre-production car with VIN #4. That car was given to South Puget Sound community college in Olympia Washington.

That makes this one of the first of the Vipers built and some think the car could be worth as much as $250,000 at auction. An official from the college confirmed that an email was received form Dodge ordering the car to be crushed after the entire educational fleet was terminated. Word is that the cars weren’t meant to ever drive on the streets, but some were and the two that were wrecked resulted in millions of dollars in liability for Dodge since it owns the cars.
