Ford introduces its Shelby GT350R Mustang at the NAIAS 2015 in Detroit

The new Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang car is a combination of changes to aerodynamics and suspension tuning. Moreover it is a limited production performance Mustang which will be out in the market later this year.

Ford introduced its new Shelby GT350R Mustang which is the most track ready road-going production Mustang ever at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2015. It was 1965 when for the first time Ford and Carroll Shelby developed a road racing version of the famous and renowned Ford Mustang, the Shelby GT350 Competition model. 

Later this year all the Mustang lovers will be able to see the new Shelby GT350R. The model has been designed and engineered in a way that will deliver the best track capability. This has been achieved thanks to the innovations in aerodynamics, chassis engineering and light-weighting.

Raj Nair the vice president of Ford group for Global Product Development stated that the Shelby GT350R Mustang is a no-compromise car and once on the track it will give the driver the best driving experience ever.

Raj also stated that this model of Mustang is a thoroughbred street car which makes the use of technology in order to deliver the best performance to the drivers.

Moreover the new car also features the first ever production V8 from Ford with a flat plane crankshaft. This is the most powerful naturally aspirated engine that Ford has ever produced.

Raj Nair also commented on the engine of the car stating that the Shelby GT350R Mustang is a car with the nimbleness and power delivery you want on a road course.

Another feature of this model of Mustang is that it comes with lightweight carbon fiber wheels which make the Ford the first major automaker to introduce this innovative wheel technology as standard equipment.

Each wheel will provide nearly 13 pounds of unsprung weight reduction per wheel, which means that this offers higher levels of stiffness than equivalent aluminum wheels. Moreover you will be very shocked to learn that in order to lose weight Ford has removed the air conditioning, the rear seats, the stereo system and the trunk floorboard. 

These weight reduction methods by Ford that have been implied on this model make the Shelby GT350R 130 pounds lighter than the Shelby GT 350 Track Pack model.

Plus Ford as always thinking about the preferences of its customers, is providing an optional Electronics Package in the new model. This includes an 8 inch touch screen with navigation, seven speaker audio system and turn signal mirrors and much more. 

This limited production Shelby GT350R will be available in the United States and Canada later this year. So get your own Shelby GT350R before they run out. With these new features and technologies it seems that the new Mustang will definitely make an impact on the American and Canadian markets.

The North American International Auto Show 2015, previously known as the Detroit Auto Show, started on January 12th in COBO Center, Detroit, Michigan and it will end on January 25, 2015.
