The all new female cast of Ghostbusters has just been selected and these lovely ladies are ready for some serious action.
Paul Feig is about to direct a new version of the Ghostbusters franchise. And it will have an all new female cast consisting of Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy.
The first of these fun fearless females to enter the fold was none other than the roly poly and jolly, Melissa McCarthy. Sony Studios is currently in talks with Kristen Wiig as well as the SNL rookies, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.
While the final phase of tying up some loose ends is about to finish, the foursome will be in for the long haul. They will portray the boldest, bravest and most beautiful ghost-grabbing, haunt-harassing and ghoul-getting femme fatales ever to be seen on screen by so many.
NYC or The Big Apple will be the usual site of shooting which will begin in the sweltering summer months of 2015. Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig have had experience under the tutelage of Feig.
Jones and McKinnon meanwhile are regular fixtures on SNL so they too have taken plenty of jerks and shocks in what can only be termed the school of hard knocks.
It sure has been a long developmental evolutionary ride that the reboot version of the Ghostbusters film has been through so far. Dan Aykroyd is all for coming back on board the reboot version of the film.
But Bill Murray has been dithering so far as far as his participation is concerned. But with the new female cast, some spice and special snazziness will get added to the overall mix.

While the negotiations are ongoing with three of the ladies, Melissa has definitely made the cut. After the original director backed out of shooting the reboot version in 2014 due to the death of a cast member, it was up to Feig to continue willy-nilly.
But he has so far done a good job of picking up the pieces after the main man behind the movie left everybody high and dry. The Ghostbusters franchise includes several merchandise and even had a cartoon series once upon a time.
It explores in a funny and hilarious manner the otherwise serious and spooky subject of ghost hunting. The use of zap guns by the ghost-busters /4/be a futuristic twist. Yet the instruments used to pinpoint the presence of ghosts such as EMF meters are actually what goes on in real life.
Paul Feig also announced the exact release date of the all new female Ghostbusters. He tweeted that the new Ghostbusters will be released on July 22, 2016.
In other news, #Ghostbusters will be hitting theaters July 22, 2016. Save the date!— Paul Feig (@paulfeig) January 28, 2015
