Google I/O Latest Rumors: Android Wear, Android TV, Preview of the Next Android Version and More

Google I/O is about to begin. And the latest rumors regarding the products show that Google has some surprises which it holds in store for the public.

With the imminent advent of Google I/O things are set for public display. The technology that will get showcased includes Android products. And some of the other gizmos and gadgets are: smart watches, Android TV and smartphones. 

A ceasefire was announced between Samsung and Google which had long been rivals. Last year, Google made $60 billion. Among Google’s most profitable venture is its search engine. Besides Samsung, several other companies have a complex bond with Google. 

Sundar Pichai is the man behind Android. It is his masterminding that has saved the day for Google. He got the I/O thing going for Google too. In the previous three years, the OS versions that have been released include Ice Cream Sandwich, Jellybean and KitKat. Among some of the new contraptions rumored to be on the Google I/O show are the following:

Preview of the Next Android OS Version:  Android head Sundar Pichai is expected to reveal the next version of Android today to show the world about Google’s advances in Android. He will not keep it secret until fall’s big updates and preview Android’s next version on stage at Google’s I/O conference today. Pichai actually wants to show the Google’s next Android version to the manufacturers ahead launch.

Actually manufacturers are worried about Android’s openness. “The openness and flexibility that Android created is a double-edged sword,” says Dave Feldman, co-founder of Emu, which makes a mobile messaging service. “Because carriers and manufacturers can modify Android, the task of creating and debugging an app can be far more time-consuming than for iOS. That is Android’s big challenge.”

Also, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, called Android a “toxic hellstew of security vulnerabilities and fragmentation, running on so many kinds of devices that it fails to offer the latest features to users,” on stage at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

Pichai answered Cook. He said: “It must be liberating [for Apple] to wake up and think about your device, your software—and hey, ‘I can even call the chip-set guys and say what the chip should be. I have to think about building a platform and bringing as many people along on this journey and getting it right. I believe that ultimately, it’s a more powerful approach, but it’s a lot more stressful as well.”

But still the smartphone makers are worried that fall release of new Android OS version will be a disadvantage for them. And Google’s Nexus phones will be the only ones at that time running latest Android OS. So Pichai is going to give a preview of next Android OS version today. But it is still unclear when Google will start delivering this updated version to the manufacturers. It can be delivered ahead of time as Pichai looks to be interested in launching new Android version sooner than before.

Android Wear: These include fitness and health monitoring wearables. Apple’s iWatch remains the big challenge to Google. And Samsung is reportedly going to unveil its Android Wear smartwatch at I/O. Motorola and LG are already developing smartwatches. Google is struggling to come up with a better choice. Besides measuring heartbeats per minute and blood pressure these smartwatches will estimate number of steps taken and number of calories burnt. 

Google TV: This is also termed Android TV. And it is going to be a successful venture after the failure of the previous effort. In the beginning Google’s plans floundered. But Google has learnt from its mistakes and is making a comeback. 

Well, those are the three most reliable rumors regarding what Google has in store for the people. Google has always believed in thinking big and it is not about to be disheartened by such companies as Samsung or Apple. Google still has it in its repertoire to go ahead and make good of all it has in the way of some of the smartest people on earth which it employs on a regular basis. The rumors /4/have reality behind them but they are still rumors. Sundar Pichai’s hard work seems to have borne fruit at long last as everyone will discover later on today when the Google I/O gets started.
