Google Photos gives consumers a single, private place to keep a lifetime of memories, and access them from any device. They’re automatically backed up and synced, so users can have peace of mind that their photos are safe, available across all your devices.
Google really means lifetime of memories. With Google Photos, consumers can now backup and store unlimited, high-quality photos and videos, for free. Google maintains the original resolution up to 16MP for photos. Google is offering unlimited storage for photos.
Google Photos is now available Android, iOS and the web.
Google Plus is a free from Google to keep users glued to Google and close to getting exposed to Google Ads.
Google Photos is available on the web under photos.google.com. The only issue is that photos need to get into Google Photos in the first place. A upload of a couple thousand photos from PC into Google Photos is a very long process. Once the images are there users get powerful tools to search through the photos and arrange them.
By focusing on photos and not adding anything else like social features, Google Photos has what it takes to become a service that hundreds of millions use. According to Google, Gmail has now 900 million users. It will take a while for Google Photos to get there.
