Google did not take the John Oliver no-prank pledge and again unveiled a fake product on April Fools’ Day.
It is April 1st aka April Fools’ Day. The fake news and fake product announcements are already rolling in. Google did not take John Oliver’s pledge of no pranks on April Fools’ Day and unveiled the Google Smartbox by Inbox.
Google announced the Smartbox on their official blog last night. Smartbox is a better, smarter mailbox that fuses physical mail with everything you love about the electronic kind. The post says that Smartbox is currently in field trial, stuck in the ground, in a field, for Inbox by Gmail customers.
The search giant released an elaborate video for the Smartbox, but overall this is one of the weakest Google April Fools’ joke in their history.
Google has though another better April Fools’ Day Joke. Google Japan revealed a video introducing Google Panda. Website owners are very familiar with Google Panda as it one of Google’s biggest search algorithm updates. The video though reveals that Google Panda is an interactive plush Panda that has three main features, it is cute and it is mobile and it is shockproof. Even Matt Cutts makes a cameo in the Google Panda video.
