Google will have sole control over the interfaces of Android Auto, Wear and TV

This will provide a consistent experience and will let Google control the update process

You are in luck if you thought the interfaces shown at the Google I/O conference for the Android Auto, Wear and TV were good enough because they are here to stay for a long time. For all these three platforms, the interface is going to be in the hands of Google which has official and sole control over them. Quite fortunately, this area hasn’t been handed down to the manufacturers. The branding and extra services will be subject to change by different companies but the core is going to remain the same.

This is obviously going to make our experiences very consistent and we can well imagine the benefits; you won’t have to grapple with different controls just because you’re watching TV in your bedroom instead of the living room. This is also going to make it easier for Google to have control over the update process which is going to be as “automatic and seamless” as the company’s Chrome browser.
