The remaining members of the Grateful Dead have reunited for their band’s 50th Anniversary. They will celebrate half a century of exciting music by enacting a series of concerts in Chicago.

There are just four left and they are planning to give a fanfare ending to their spectacle together. Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Phil Lesh are having a reunion as The Grateful Dead for a Fare Thee Well series of concerts in Chicago, Illinois.

It’s been two decades since they performed last time (that was in the mid 90s). They have also taken on additional burdens just for the sake of entertaining their fan base. This includes two concerts in California. These jam-packed shows are being said to be the last performances of the members.

California is the venue where the band originally started performing before crowds of rabid fans. The band members however have made one thing clear in an open letter to their well-wishers. And that is that this will be the final oeuvre.

“We will not be adding any more Fare Thee Well shows. The three Chicago shows will still be our final stand,” Grateful Dead band members stated in their letter. “We decided to add these two Santa Clara shows to enable more of our fans to celebrate with us one more time. But this is it.”

They will be saying their last goodbyes and retiring for good since they all need some peace of mind and rest and relaxation in their old age. The only reason they added on the extra stress of two more concerts was in order to comply with the demands of their fans which are myriad.

The letter explained that it had been a long and strange journey the band had undertaken. Now that they had so many fans it seemed the timing was perfect to say a belated bye bye. And as far as the tickets to their shows were concerned they had tried to be very reasonable too.

They did not want to inconvenience their fans. Thus no fleecing the consumers alive would take place. And that was a promise they would abide by.
