The i.am+ is the new smart fashion accessory that lets you make calls with its own 3G connection
Gucci is a name associated with high end fashion and when it is attached with a smart watch we know exactly what to expect. The guru of the fashion industry has paired up with Will.i.am for presenting smarwatches more as a fashion accessory. This smart band is going to have a front shooter and will have its own 3G connection which can be used to make calls. This coming together of a fashion brand and a musician is quite unlikely but that’s what makes them appear to be more attractive and interesting.
Named as the i.am+, this joint effort of a smart band was officially announced at the Baselworld watch show in Switzerland on 19 March. The device was referred to as a “smart band” and not a smarwatch but it still has all the basic functions which we expect from a smartwatch such as making and receiving phone calls, sending text messages/emails, tracking fitness and playing music along with checking out maps.
Gucci explains the device as having a “sophisticated personal assistant” which works more like the Siri on the iOS, allowing for voice command. The musician shed some more light saying that “i.am+ and Gucci Timepieces are setting the pace with our vision for a wearable technology. In developing together a device that is both fashionable and technologically advanced, we will create something that is unique in the marketplace. From the very start, I coined the term ‘fashionology,’ a merging of the worlds of fashion and technology, which is exactly what this collaboration with Gucci represents.”
The CEOs of both the companies were seen wearing this fashionable smart band and these were the early prototypes of the actual thing. Though we have seen how this new fashion accessory is going to look like we still haven’t gotten around to the details on the price, release and availability.
