Apple has made no statements regarding this port and its existence
The Apple Watch is less than two weeks away from its official launch and the highly awaited smartwatch has already broken all records of popularity in the industry. The pre orders opened on April 9th and Apple stores all around the world have also been offering appointments to try on the smartwatch before it ships on April 24th.
Thanks to a MacRumors reader, his curiosity led him to discover further during the try-on as he slipped off the bottom band and it was revealed that the hidden diagnostic port which we saw on the earliest of the Apple Watch models is still there underneath on the retail models.
This secretive port was first revealed by TechCrunch back in March and everyone started pondering over the possibilities of opening up a tsunami of third party “smart” band accessories which can also greatly impact and help with the Apple Watch interface. It seems quite strange that Apple has been avoiding admitting that there is such a port underneath their device. Even after these revelations Apple has remained quiet and no statements have been issued.
