Honda unveiled the HondaJet. The HondaJet is a light business jet aircraft of Honda Aircraft Company. The company started the marketing tour around the world to promote new offering this week.
Takanobu Ito, President & CEO, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. said: “Entering into the aircraft industry, which adds a third dimension to our mobility products, was a dream of our company founder, Mr. Soichiro Honda. Striving to realize our dreams, Honda took on unprecedented and long-term challenges to develop both the jet engine and aircraft fuselage on our own.
Honda is proudly presenting HondaJet, equipped with the HF120 GE Honda new-generation turbofan engine, which will carve out a new set of standards for the performance and comfort of a light business jet. Honda’s corporate slogan is ‘The Power of Dreams.’
We want to realize the joy and freedom of mobility and a sustainable society where people can enjoy life in the sky as well. Moreover, Honda wants to continue to be a mobility company that takes on bold challenges for new technologies in the areas of motorcycles, automobiles, power products, robotics, hydrogen and aircraft.”
The HondaJet has a unique Over-The-Wing Engine Mount that enables more spacious cabin, noise reduction, and increased fuel efficiency. Unlike many jets that use aluminum, the HondaJet employs a lighter yet strong composite fuselage. The fuselage is created from a combination of co-cured integral structure and honeycomb sandwich structures.
The HondaJet cockpit is built around the Garmin G3000 next-generation all-glass avionics system brings pilot and aircraft closer together with touch-screen technology. The dual touch-screen controllers and three 14-inch landscape high-resolution displays offer enhanced navigation, flight planning, and control.
The HondaJet has a capacity of 6 (1 crew + 5 passengers) or in an alternative configuration 7 (1 crew + 6 passengers).
