A number of rare items which includes furniture, artwork and personal belongings will be on display on Saturday
Oprah Winfrey is auctioning off her wide range of classic priceless collection. The collection includes antique furniture, artwork, designer clothing and other precious household items and the whole stuff is going up for auction on Saturday at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers.
According to a report by Toronto Sun, there are more than 500 items up for the grab and the estimated worth of the entire collection is at least 80, 000 US dollars. However, the auction is expected to generate more money than that.
The “cheapest” item up for the auction is a spectacular pair of designer sunglasses, valuing 50 US dollars. The most precious item of the collection is a $120,000 worth painting by American artist Richard Edward Miller.
This auction is for a noble cause. All the money raised from this event will benefit The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy, which supports the continued education for her girl’s school in South Africa so they can get admissions in the universities of South Africa and United States and continue their education.
Few weeks ago, Oprah announced that she is wrapping her studio in Chicago and moving its headquarters to Los Angeles. The 61 years old Oprah Winfrey is among the most influential and richest personalities of United States and has collected lots of different things made with precious materials over the years. These items are mostly from her apartment based in Chicago.
