After years of struggle Warner Brothers has finally succeeded in making a reboot of the famous movie ‘I am Legend’ which was released in 2007.

The movie I am Legend featuring Will Smith was released in 2007 and it was among the most successful movies of that year. The budget of the movie was $150 million, whereas it made a profit of almost $600 million.

The directing agency which was Warner Brothers tried multiple times to make a follow up featuring Will Smith in it, in spite of the fact that his character died at the end of the first film.

After six years of struggle, Warner Brothers is finally able to shoot the new version of I Am Legend in studios. The movie is currently under development, but don’t expect a prequel or a sequel for in fact it is a remaking of the original movie.

The reboot of the movie isn’t meant to star Will Smith, as he is reluctant to do sequels. Due to this very reason, he has been avoiding a reprise in Independence Day 2.

An unknown writer Gary Graham is the script writer of this remake. It is reported that he wrote the script while he was working at an Apple store and submitted it to the Black list. It was from there that the CAA noticed the script.

A novel written by Richard Matheson was first adapted into a movie ‘The Last Man on Earth’ and it had the same plot as that of the movie ‘I Am Legend.’ After some time another remake came into existence called ‘The Omega Man’ featuring Charlton Heston and finally ‘I Am legend’ starring Will Smith was developed.

George Romero was heavily inspired by this novel and created The Night of the Living Dead and also all of its sequels. However, none of these movies faithfully adapted the novel – not even the most successful version of the book ‘I Am Legend.’

Many say that the book is one big downer of a story, and it is highly unlikely that Warner Brothers will be able to transform such a thing into a blockbuster. Rather than being faithful to the novel, the studio should make some alterations in the story.
