Lucasfilm President confirms the possibility of another Indiana Jones film in the future but not when!
Kathleen Kennedy the president of Lucasfilm recently spoke to Vanity Fair on the next instalment of Star Wars. But while discussing the fate of people in a galaxy far, far away, Kennedy also spoke about another potential Indiana Jones film in the future.
Indiana Jones is a beloved film series starring Harrison Ford as a fedora-sporting archaeological professor who adventures have found some of the most significant relics in history.
Ever since Disney and Paramount pictures made a financial deal back in 2012, fans have been anticipating another Indiana Jones film. When Disney bought out Lucasfilms it also bought the rights to the Indiana Jones franchise which was a big prize. Kennedy’s comments are the first time official confirmation has been made on the potential of another Indiana Jones film.
Kennedy confirmed the rumors that one day an Indiana Jones film will be made by Disney Pictures, but when the film will be made is not clear. According to Kennedy a film will definitely be made but she’s not sure when as they still haven’t started working on a script. Kennedy and her associate are talking about the possibility of another Indiana film but they need a script first.
In 2014 Alan Horn the chairman of Disney also shared his views on the possibility of an Indiana Jones film but Kennedy’s recent comments are more concrete than Horn’s. When Horn sat down with Vanity Fair he clearly stated they don’t have a story and have done nothing to make another Indiana Jones film yet.
Kennedy has also been the executive producer on every single Steven Spielberg project since 1982, which gives us hope there could be no one better to come up with an Indiana Jones script than the protégé of the original director.
