International Apple Stores have no Black Friday Sale This Year
Apple announced to support (RED) on Black Friday 2014 and revealed Apple Black Friday 2014 gift card deals to be available on Black Friday. It is now apparent that Apple is not offering Black Friday sales in Europe and elsewhere like in past years. This is strange as just now Black Friday is gaining momentum in Europe.
Apple along with Amazon brought Black Friday to Europe. This year Apple is not offering a Black Friday sale outside the United States. In past years you could see the Apple Store Black Friday deals to appear first in Australia and then Europe before they became available in the US Apple Store.
I was waiting for the Australian store to go down and relaunch with the Apple Store Black Friday deals, but nothing happened. Then I remembered that the Apple announcement said that the (RED) Gift Cards would only be available in the United States.
When I read it back then, I thought that European Apple Stores would offer discounts or normal gift cards.
The International Apple Stores display an announcement that Apple will donate a portion from the sales on December 1, World Aids Day and Cyber Monday. No word about deals.
So just when the Black Friday phenomenon gains momentum in the UK and also in Germany, Apple pulls out.
Apple has announced a huge charity promotion to fight AIDS. Apple will donate a portion of the sales the company makes on the Apple Store Black Friday and Apple Store Cyber Monday sale to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.
In the US Apple Store Black Friday 2014 Sale customers will receive a special edition (RED) iTunes gift card with the purchase of select Apple products. For each gift card distributed, Apple will also donate a percentage to the Global Fund.
