The tablet is 55% Faster Than iPhone 6 / 6 Plus, 68% Than iPad Air
Till the time the iPad Air 2 was officially announced by Apple, we had all been expecting to see a powerfhouse tablet and at the event last week Apple did continuously mention the speed of the tablet which has now been confirmed by the Geekbenchresults. The next gen Ipad Air is powered by the A8X which is the triple-core configuration clocked at 1.5GHz. Along with this the RAM has also been bumped up to 2 GB which is something big considering its coming from Apple which usually doesn’t require an increase in RAM.
In the past few years, every other company has been trying to do better than the other in the specs department but surprisingly Apple stayed put during this race for the best. Many others in this mobile industry have been trying to achieve successful results through octa-core CPUs and, in some cases, 4GB of RAM but Apple has followed its own different strategy and it has its own tactic which might not appear very appealing and powerful at the first.
We can surely recall the A7 which now seems to belong to another century and it trickled out to the iPad Air, iPad mini 2 and iPhone 5s, was a 64-bit offering. However Apple had put it to use in just the right way which made the products capable of achieving speeds which weren’t yet thought possible by the competitors. We can see some marked improvement in the A8 this year which has been welcomed in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus which have already been seeing gains of 15% more than the A7.
