At the Mayweather vs Pacquiao Fight, Jamie Foxx sang the national anthem in a bit of an odd manner. Later on Jamie pinpointed a technological glitch in the system as the reason behind his offbeat singing.

Jamie Foxx got quite some flak for his rendition of the national anthem on the fight night between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Since it was the battle of the century in boxing, everything had to be perfect. Yet according to listeners, Foxx ruined the moment with his singing style which was way off the mark.

But later on Jamie got to tell it like it is on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. He remarked that it was a bit awkward alright. Foxx said that whenever a Black American got a chance to sing the national anthem, it was a moment where everyone looked on with a touch of racism on his or her performance no matter how liberal or politically correct they happened to be.

Foxx even jokingly portrayed the attitude by exaggerating the Southern drawl by saying “Oh sayyyyyy can youououou.”Despite the setback he had weathered, Foxx had a smiley face throughout his time on the show. Then he went on to joke how his ears came out during the time he sang the national anthem. When asked to expatiate on this strange homily, Foxx proceeded to say he meant his “inner” ears by that.

He said that as he listened on with his so-called inner ears, the organ was not in synch with his listening and some of the timing was mismatched so yes things did not go as planned. Foxx blames the technological issues that seemed to ruin his moment before the crowds upon crowds of people present to see the fight.

But then he said that we all still loved America and that such a simple thing like an out-of-synch national anthem was not something which was supposed to upset such mentally tough people like Americans. Foxx admitted that his singing was a little bit off but he said that in the arena it positively killed.

Yet the criticism surrounding the actor’s rendition of the national anthem was savage indeed. One Twitter critic said that Foxx had virtually killed the anthem down to roadkill. Beyonce too once sang the national anthem but she never made mincemeat out of it.

She rather beautified it in accordance with her soulful, R&B voice. Foxx said that maybe everybody was criticizing him because they had nothing better to do. And he /4/be right there too.
