The actress from New York has had a tough time dealing with a pregnancy. Girls star, Jemima Kirke talks about reproductive issues and how women should be allowed to talk about having abortions freely.
Jemima Kirke is from New York City. She is a mother of two children and she is also known for her acting. Jemima is also an artist and a good one at that. She talks about the time she became pregnant in 2007.
Back then she was with her boyfriend but she wasn’t sure that she wanted to be attached to her boyfriend at the time for the rest of her life. She knew that if she decided to keep the child, and if things didn’t work out, then the kid would have a really hard time dealing with everything and that is why she decided to have an abortion.
She went to Planned Parenthood to get the abortion. She didn’t wanted to tell her mother about the abortion and thus she had to pay out of her pocket to get the abortion. She also took some money from her boyfriend to get the abortion.
She also realized that if she didn’t take the anesthesia for the abortion, then she might be able to afford it. She also thinks that getting an abortion is very hard because of the pricing and it is really expensive. Sometimes people can’t afford it and they have to keep the child.
Jemima talks about how it is difficult for women to talk about reproductive issues even between them. She feels that women get embarrassed and feel shame when they talk about getting abortions or even getting pregnant. She says that she feels confident talking about her issues and she shares them with everyone.
She feels that when her daughters get into their teens, that they should have an easy time. They shouldn’t feel bad and intimidated to talk about reproductive issues. DrawTheLine.org has made Jemima’s video and they ask people to stand for women’s health at the end of their video. They also suggest to share your part of the story.
