Jill Duggar has gotten hitched to the man of her dreams Derick Dillard.

The two had been very firm Christians who were looking forward to getting married one day. And finally that day arrived and before a crowd of over a thousand guests, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard sealed their wedding vows with a kiss. And it was bliss!

At the Cross Church in her hometown of Springdale, Arkansas, 23-year-old Jill Duggar kissed her husband-to-be, Derick Dillard for the very first time.

“We want to think about the importance of marriage,” Jill said. “And what it means to be married.”

More than 1,000 family and friends were present at the wedding ceremony of Jill and Derick. The two had kept up their Christian morals and principles and never gotten physical with each other before marriage which is a big thing in this age and time of excess.

In a world of pornography, vice and promiscuity, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are solid poof that goodness, morality and a strong sense of ethics still exist in some people.

The reality TV show “19 Kids & Counting” portrays the family life of 48-year-old Jim Bob and 47-year-old Michelle who are Jill’s father and mother. They are very strict and practicing Christians who show the mirror to the world by following the way of Jesus Christ in today’s secular society that has lost its bearings.

Jill Duggar is the second daughter of Jim and Michelle. The wedding ceremony was quite an occasion and many of the family members served as bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Jill Duggar’s 5 sisters were bridesmaids and two brothers were groomsmen. The remaining sisters and a niece served as flower girls. 5 more 5 more brothers served as ushers. Ring-bearer responsibilities were also shared by one of her brother’s and a nephew.

“I’m so grateful to all the volunteers who helped put everything together for the wedding,” Michelle told PEOPLE. “Everyone has worked hard and done an amazing job.”

The volunteers helped Duggars in making over 600 cupcakes, 3,000 chocolate-chip cookies and 3,000 root-beer floats for the wedding guests.

“I think we should have done more pranks at the wedding,” Jill’s 15-year-old brother, Jeremiah, said. “But, they did a good job. Derick is my brother-in-law. He’s a good guy. I’m stuck with him now, so good thing.”

One of Jill’s younger brothers spoke of how he was on friendly terms with Derick who was a cool guy and also told some awesomely funny jokes.

“I’m very excited at this wedding,” Jill’s 10-year-old brother Jackson told PEOPLE. “Deother rick is like a brother already. He tells jokes [and] he plays around with us.”

Jill’s parents were pretty excited yet they also felt sad since their daughter was leaving them. On the other hand they felt that Derick would prove to be a good husband since he had it in him to offer her love and protection.

“It really hit me that Jill was leaving as she was packing her bag the other night,” Jim Bob tells PEOPLE. “We all realized she was really leaving. We are so glad that Derick is an answer to her prayers. It’s an emotional time, but a joyful time.”

Derick Dillard’s fathe died in 2008. However his mother Cathy came to the wedding directly from hospital. She is battling cancer. But she was very happy to attend the wedding. Dillard asked all people present at the rehearsal dinner to pray for his mother.

Jill’s younger sister Jinger pointed out that Derick was the ideal husband for Jill and that there could be no substitute for him since he was a perfect gentleman and an honorable person to boot.

“Jill is just enjoying this time. Derick has such a tender, caring heart. I couldn’t have picked a better person for my sister. We are going to miss her so much,” said Jinger.

Jill explained how it was a better option to wait for your wedding day for the first romantic kiss of your life rather than lose the charm and engage in sinful stuff beforehand.

“I think it is safer and makes it more special to wait to kiss until your wedding day,” Jill said. “To save the physical side of your marriage for your wedding day and not going further than you should – we want to have no regrets.”

“You can really get to know each other on every level without the physical part of it,” Dillard said. “I am the most blessed man to have Jill.”
