Kate Upton on Prettiness and its Discontents

The supermodel and sex icon, Kate Upton spoke on prettiness and some of its major discontents recently.

Kate Upton’s cover for Elle magazine is sexy alright but not as super sexy as it should be. For one thing, her upper body is hidden beneath layers of clothes and it is only her lithe and lissome legs which are visible from beneath the baggage. 

Kate discussed some of the irksome details of being a pretty face on a gorgeous body. Firstly, Kate claims that growing up on a farm meant that she had to perform a number of errands and engage in hard work.

Just because she was beautiful didn’t mean she was given any leeway in matters of completing her required physical assignments. Next, she refers to her early days as a person without any curvature. Since Kate hails from Florida, an ordinary body without a bikini on it gets you nowhere. 

So when she started developing those soft and sensuous feminine curves, Kate finally began feeling comfortable about her self and moreover thanked her lucky stars for the much-needed transformation. 

‘When I first started modelling, I was a normal catalogue model,’ Kate explains to Elle UK in a recent interview.

‘Then, I became a woman, and I was really excited about becoming a woman. Because I’m from Florida, it’s all about being in bathing suits. It’s a different view of beauty there. You are ugly if you don’t have a curvy body. And I didn’t have one, and then I got one, and thought, “Yessss!”

‘And then people say: “Oh, wow, you’re healthy.”

‘And you’re like, “Wait – what? I’ve been begging for this body my whole life!”’

Alongside Kate, some other models and actresses with awesome bodies and photogenic looks have expressed the same strangely odd thoughts. Jessica Biel, who happens to be Justin Timberlake’s wife, said that being beautiful was not an easy thing to deal with, according to Celebitchy.

People begin to judge you solely on the angular features of your face and the waist to hip ratio that you portrayed in a dumb photograph. What the person was like inside got left behind on the wayside. 

It was a tragedy of sorts when a single pimple could ruin the career of a model. Even Megan Fox who is the epitome of the vamp-like seductress feels the same way. 

It’s very weird when you think that all these pretty ladies, who are gorgeous hunks of feminine pulchritude, are being paid in the scads due to precisely those features they are denigrating. 

Meanwhile, Kate has posted a pic of herself with a pup requesting her boyfriend Justin Verlander to allow her to keep one. She posted the following Instagram with caption, “Pleaseeeee @justinverlander”

But Justin has posted a rejoinder image of his dog in a sprawled pose with one paw sticking out. The catch phrase says “if anyone objects raise your hand”. See his Instagram below.

Clearly, Justin does not want a pup. Sorry, Kate! But that’s the way your love interest wants it to be!
