Katy Perry Speaks Out About Russel Brand

New clips are coming out of interview that Perry claims happened “3 years ago.”

Sydney’s Daily Telegraph has just released a “new” interview with Katy Perry that is very telling about her relationship with ex-husband Russell Brand – a topic that the “Roar” singer had been very mum about up until now. In the interview, she revealed that:

“Russel Brand hasn’t spoken to me since he texted me saying he was filing for divorce. I don’t want to talk about him – my songs will say what I need to say.”

She goes on to talk about just how she got over the break-up, saying that instead of wallowing over the 2012 divorce, Perry, 30, has distracted herself by indulging what she calls her “little fearless invincibility streak.” So what does that mean to the singer, who is just about to finish up a marathon worldwide tour?

“I’m one of those people that likes to be fearless,” she says. “I don’t like to live in fear because that traps you and your voices. Fear is a control tactic in the world that is negative and depressing and I don’t want to be associated with it.”

She also said that she isn’t afraid of falling in love again, and even alludes to her relationship with Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend John Mayer. Could Katy be the person to succeed where many other Hollywood women have failed?

“I always thought you could have a relationship and success. For a modern woman it’s important to be supported and that there is equality in every aspect. It’s not two halves that make a whole, it’s two wholes that make a whole,” she says.

Katy then goes on to say that she would never let a man get in the way of her dreams – even if it meant that she would have to be single forever. She says that she has “done that before” and doesn’t want to go back to that type of lifestyle. Hmm, how long do you think it will be until Russell comes back with a joke of his own?
