LeAnn and Eddie Cibrian’s reality show will be hitting Vh1 in less than a week, and the trio’s feuding continues.
LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are using their new reality show, LeAnn & Eddie, to silence rumors and gossip. Or so the couple says.
Jenny Erikson’s “LeAnn Rimes & Eddie Cibrian Reveal the Real Reason They’re Doing a Reality Show” on The Stir spills all the tea.
On Friday, July 11, Eddie tells the press, “What’s really real about the show is our relationship juxtaposed by everything the public reads and is fed by the tabloids.” According to the CSI: Miami actor, “This is a comedy and that’s how we go about our life as well, is we laugh and it really helps.” But if it’s a comedy, how can it be reality? A comedy implies some kind of scripting.
So is LeAnn & Eddie more the original Real World: New York reality or something like True Tori?
Anyone whose seen the online previews can probably guess, but since the reality show is must-see TV this summer after the over-the-top feuds with ex-wife Brandi Glanville no one will really care, either. Glanville stars on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and openly discusses her past with Cibrian.
When Eddie and LeAnn met on Lifetime’s film adaptation of Nora Robert’s novel Northern Lights, both were married and not so subtly on the sneaking around. And the affair caused a deep divide between the couples since the country singer’s been known to reference Glanville and Cibrian’s sons as “my boys.”
The two emotionally charged women on Twitter create vicious wars. Quickly.

For years the former and current Mrs. Cibrian have lobbied insults and attacks of the other through social media, while Eddie seems to have remained somewhat unscathed by the whole thing. While portrayed as a cheater, he still gets work and some semblance of a career without being considered a harpy or evil temptress.
And the couple is looking to avoid smearing or firing back at the ex, too. “This show is not an opportunity to fire back at anybody … if anything, it’s very much a satire and you’ll see that.” Er, scripted?
Especially since Wet Paint reported earlier this month that Brandi maybe suing based on the insults on camera. Just ignore the pot and kettle sitting in both houses. Carson Blackwelder’s “Will Brandi Glanville Sue LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian For Bad-Mouthing Her?” implies the divorce agreement has a clause that doesn’t allow badmouthing each other since it could hurt his career.

Previously, Eddie prevented Brandi from letting the boys appear on Housewives and the co-parents made the decision to eliminate them from LeAnn & Eddie. “My kids are not in my ex-wife’s show and they’re definitely not going to be in ours, and that’s that.” While not appearing on Housewives lead to some conflict, he points out that living in the public eye for children isn’t safe. “Keep them out of it as much as possible.”
Given the paparazzo’s aggressiveness surrounding celebrity children, it’s probably not a bad thought.
LeAnn hopes the episodes will go against the idea of people under the assumption that “we take ourselves super seriously and we don’t at all.” Ignore the Twitter wars or something.
Will the show really let the Cibrians’ “take our life back and have fun with our story and where we are now”? Time will tell.
LeAnn & Eddie begins airing Thursday, July 17th at 10:30/9:30, and run for eight episodes.
