Lottery Winner Arthur Neal found Dead

The disappearance and apparent death of the alleged lottery winner remains a secret among a cloud of claims by his family subsequently proving to be false!

An 86 years old man named Arthur Neal Jr., was found dead in a vacant home on Sunday. The Detroit resident had been missing since 20th December, last seen at his home in Trinity street Northwest Detroit.

A spokesman for the Detroit police, Officer Adam Madera said that Neal’s body was found in the basement of a vacant home located at 15800 Mansfield. The body was found to be covered and after medical examination, Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office discovered Neal was stabbed multiple times. The death is being investigated as a Homicide. 

According to his relatives Neal had won a $20,000 in a lottery game, however according to the police and lottery officials there is no record of him having won or claiming a lottery prize.

Likewise the Michigan Lottery spokesperson Jeff Holyfield explicitly said in a statement that there is no record of Mr. Neal having claimed a prize or any prize at all, and he never cashed in any tickets at all. The Michigan lottery has been providing all sorts of information to the Detroit Police Department that /4/be able to assist them. 

Moreover, lottery winner Arthur Neal’s family initially reported to the police that Neal’s home had been vandalized however upon investigation of the home, the police found no such proof of vandalism. When asked regarding the discovery, the relatives declined to comment. 

The Police are not absolutely sure if the lottery winnings were a catalyst to Neal’s disappearance and death. So far no suspect has been officially identified but Capt. Eric Decker, head of the Detroit Police Homicide Section confidently believes the case is moving in the right direction.

On the other hand the victim’s neighbor shared that Neal was a good guy who introduced himself when the neighbor first moved next door and Neal always tried to stay busy, sometimes working on his garden, regardless of his old age.

In addition the Brightmoor district where Neal resided has been notorious as Detroit city’s most dangerous district for many years. A total of 28 homicides, including lottery winner Arthur Neal’s, have taken place in the city so far in 2015 and the rate is up by 75 percent since 2014 at the same period of the year. Since lottery winner Arthur Neal was reported missing there have been 4 shootings, 4 street robberies, 4 stolen vehicles, 20 burglaries and 36 assaults within a 1 mile radius of his home.
