The beautiful and charming actress, Marcia Strassman has died at the age of 66. She was famous for her roles in ‘Welcome Back Kotter,’ ‘Honey I Shrunk The Kids.’

As confirmed to the press by her sister, Marcia Strassman has died at the age of 66 due to the breast cancer that overtook her life. She had quite a portfolio of various shows that she had acted in. But she will always be remembered for her roles in “Welcome Back Kotter” and “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids”. 

She even acted in the sequel to the latter, “Honey, I Blew Up the Kids”. Strassman was quite a respected figure in the media and headed the national board of the Screen Actors Guild. According to her sister Julie Strassman, Marcia was one of the most humorous and talented people around for miles. “She was the funniest, smartest person I ever met,” said Julie Strassman. “And talented. She knew everything. Now I won’t be able to call her and ask her questions.”

Marcia Strassman was a true genius and a nice human being to boot. Julie, her sister, regretted her death with tears in her eyes and said that now she had no one to whom she could look up to. Bob Weide and Cher shared their opinions on Twitter to the effect that she was nice, humane and a wonderful person. 

Strassman originally hailed from The Big Apple and she lived out her life in New Jersey. She entered the highly charged world of LA when she was just a teenager. She appeared on The Patty Duke Show for a while. Then she left the scene for some time, but returned to act as a nurse in M.A.S.H. In 1975, she got her first really big chance in Welcome Back Kotter. 

Then she worked in various bit roles in Tremors, Booker, Third Watch, Providence and Noah Knows Best. But the two “Honey, I…” movies really garnered her a lot of fame and celebrity status which she positively enjoyed. She later on appeared in The Aviator in 1985. 

Before she contracted the deadly disease (cancer) she was involved in charities and various humanitarian and philanthropic works. She was a great songstress and according to her sister, she continued to sing till her last days on earth. She had many friends and was a very inspirational human being indeed. /4/she rest in peace!
