The Brazilian presidential election will have a run-off after votes have been almost all counted. Previous hopeful Marina Silva did not make into the run-off.
Brazilians will have to go to the polls again. 99% of the votes have been counted and Dilma Rousseff has reached the most votes with 42%, but that is not enough. She has to battle Aecio Neves in a run-off on October 26. He reached 34%. Before the election Marina Silva was considered to have a chance at the Presidency. She ended up though only on 3rd place with 21%.
Now the campaigning will continue over the next weeks. It is a tight race. Marina Silva and her party will need to decide which of the candidates they are supporting.
The Neves’s camp has the more enthusiastic tweet celebrating the results.
Vamos lutar, pq a luta é o modo do Brasil avançar. Precisamos de vocês #Dilma13PraVencer— Dilma Rousseff (@dilmabr) October 6, 2014
