- The Entire Cast Reunites for the Pre-Screening of the Movie Entourage
Mark Wahlberg said at the premiere of Entourage: “If People Like It, Then We’ll Do One More”
The HBO comedy movie “Entourage” directed by Doug Ellin and based on a famous former TV series is ready for its initial release on June 3rd, 2015. The whole cast reunited for early screening and attracted a lot of fans in New York.
The TV series which was a major hit since its start in 2004 ended in 2011 and four years later the cast have reunited for a movie version of the popular series. It premiered at New York City’s Paris Theater on Wednesday night. The original cast members include Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon and Jeremy Piven.
The long-awaited movie is now ready for screening under the production of Mark Wahlberg. The film also featured a number of prominent movie stars including: Greg Louganis, Pharrell Williams, Ed O’Neill, Russell Wilson, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Piers Morgan, Armie Hammer, Warren Buffett, Liam Neeson, Jessica Alba, Bob Saget, Tom Brady, Gary Busey, Mark Cuban, Andrew Dice Clay and David Spade.
“The movie was the most important thing because everybody felt the series was cut short, and the episodes were always so, so short,” Wahlberg told The Hollywood Reporter. “If people like it, then we’ll do one more, but, if not, this is definitely a tribute to the fans and the people that made it such a success.”
The story line of Entourage is based on the concept of strong brotherhood between friends. Pivon said the story of the show was about loyalty and sticking together in difficult times.
Dillon shared his feelings on the red carpet and said that he was not sure if the movie would get shot one day. He also shared that the whole cast always wanted a movie version and the things got delayed but after a long gap finally they made it.
The reason for the delay was mainly the script of the movie according to Doug Ellin. He wanted to create a movie which encompassed the whole story line from where the series left off. He said that writing the movie was the biggest challenge but Mark got it made in a very professional and smooth manner.
Connolly upon being asked about his experience of the movie added that ‘Friendship’ has always been the message behind the series and explained that the unconditional love and support the guys in the story have for each other is remarkable. He also added that the story is very relatable and people are going to love it.
The cast while sharing their experience of the whole movie also said that they have literally seen a lot of growth in their personalities and also in terms of their acting abilities throughout the period it took to cover the hit series.
Ferrara got very emotional and shared that Entourage has been a very important part of his life; he was 22 years old when he started working for the series and now he is a more mature 35.
Ferrara said that he is glad to be part of Entourage and it is actually one of the best things that have happened to him in his career. He also said that he is very thankful for the wonderful experience and has made friends that are going to stay with him forever.
The pre-show of the movie gathered a lot of fans and the tickets were sold out. The producer Mark Wahlberg also gave an overwhelming teaser about the sequel of the movie at the premiere and said if the people will like it, they will make another one.
