  • Marvel Headed for Some Big Changes
  • All-New All-Different Spider-Man, Hulk and Wolverine Coming This Fall

Marvel Comics is introducing something and that is All-New All-Different this fall, and readers should prepare for some drastic changes.

Earlier this year Marvel introduced Secret Wars and turned its universe upside down. It also introduced a Battleworld which is a new planet made up of the remains of the collision between Marvel 616-Earth universe and Ultimate universe. Now Marvel Comics has announced that at the end of the Secret Wars, there is another new surprise for readers, which is an All New All Different Marvel.

The Editor-in-Chief, Axel Alonso released a press statement in which he explained that they will be inviting the fans and readers of Marvel Comics to a completely new universe comprising of new places and new landscapes filled with characters, both familiar to the readers and also some which are brand new.

“This is the Marvel Universe,” Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso said. “This fall, we will be inviting readers into a universe comprised of bold new landscapes populated with characters and teams both familiar and brand-new.”

David Gabriel, SVP of Sales and Marketing said that this is something new, something different and it is going to change the whole game of Marvel. He also said that they are going to gift the readers with new #1’s for each and every title that comes out during this event. This is a new change, a new beginning which took a lot of courage and it will honor the past 76 years at Marvel.

“This is going to be an absolute game changer for Marvel,” said David Gabriel, SVP of Sales & Marketing. “Similar to the most successful comics industry program of this century—Marvel NOW!, All-New All-Different Marvel is going to be presenting fans new #1’s for every title coming out during this event. This is a brand new beginning that honors our past 76 years, yet takes a bold step with daring, and accessible, entry points.”

The Editor told EW that in the fall, fans will also see new faces of old titles, such as a new Hulk which they’ve never seen before. There will be a new Spider Man in the area and a brand new Wolverine. He also warned the fans to get ready for some controversies.

This is not new for the comic book world because shifts like these happen quite a lot in the comic universe. For example DC Comics, the rival of Marvel is initiating a launch on DC You, which is adding new story lines to its characters at the end of its Convergence event.

Controversies are going to be a major part of this big change, which is common with any huge transformation. For example a lot of controversies emerged when Marvel introduced Jane Foster as the new Thor, African-American Sam Wilson as the new Captain America, and the introduction of a Muslim girl from Jersey City as Ms. Marvel and finally the A-Force, which was an all-female Avengers team.

The world is changing, it is moving forward, and it is a world where anything seems to be possible. Controversies arise and then they fade away slowly. What comes out of them are changes and new beginnings.

Where there are haters, there are also supporters. Some people accept the changes whereas others don’t. Some critics accused Marvel of being too politically correct, but supporters applauded them for their bold moves. The introduction of female faces has also gone well for Marvel and the comics have sold more copies than the makers’ expectations.

The Editor Alonso said that improvements can always be made and fans are also going to hear a lot of new exciting voices coming up in the next year.
