Michelle MacLaren quits on Wonder Woman on the pretense of creative differences.
In the latest times, when superheroes movies are the latest trend in Hollywood given the excellent action ready actors, special effects and money being invested more than ever, things have come to becoming a taboo where female directors are concerned with developing the movies.
Lately Michelle MacLaren is the director who has had creative differences with Warner Bros. during the development of the upcoming movie, Wonder Woman. MacLaren was announced as the choice for director November last year.
Observing her Emmy winning record, Michelle is not the kind of person that would shy away from any kind of challenge. Her resume includes directing for shows such as Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and The X-Files.
The specifications of the creative difference are not yet known. The movie stars Cal Gadot and it is set to hit theatres next year. MacLaren was the choice for the movie as It was heavily desired that a female director works on the development of a superheroine. MacLaren was currently working on scripts for the movie.
This would not be the first time that a female director has left due to creative differences. Patty Jenkins who was working on Thor 2 in 2011 also left on the same pretenses. Alan Taylor ended up directing the movie.
THR first broke the story.
