Microsoft Inc. about to bring “Cortana” voice-assistant with Windows Phone 8.1 in April

Some other additional brand new information has reportedly been revealed about the tech giant Microsoft Inc.’s rumored voice-assistant, which is expected to act as the Siri’s counterpart in the Windows Phone based handsets, named as Cortana.

According to the MFSTNerd, the Twitter account of a purported Microsoft source, informed that the proposed voice-assistant is about to reach the Nokia Lumia models by the April this year and it will be voiced by Mr. Halo‘s Jen Taylor, who is the main voice behind the game’s artificial intelligence (AI) character, the Cortana.

The Microsoft Inc. has been rumored to be working hard on its first ever voice-assistant feature since the last September, which is based on the character of the firm‘s own published gaming title. The rumored application made its first appearance back in the last September 2013, when some of the screenshots of an early Windows Phone build was leaked online, and was listed as the ‘zCortana’.

Some reports by the famous online blog, The Verge, also showed some of the screenshots of the Cortana app, which had indicated that the service is going to offer the weather information, the notifications, and the calendar, in addition to the alarms and phone calls features. The screenshots had also indicated that the application will be location-aware, as well.
