The new phenom to hit YouTube is a hit song “His Daughter”. Behind it lies Molly Kate Kestner’s melodious voice.
18 years old Molly Kate Kestner has truly taken the world by storm. Kestner is a teenage prodigy who is the voice behind the YouTube hit “His Daughter”. It is the imaginary tale of a little girl who is recovering from a life of abuse.
The musical genius has expressed something that a lot of other folks have been through. And although she herself has not faced such tragic and brutal circumstances firsthand, she totally identifies with the females who have had to go through the living hell.
In fact, she wept her way through the writing of the lyrics for the song. It was a harrowing process alright for Molly Kate Kestner. The song has depth and lends meaning to a meaningless situation that is both cruel and chaotic.

“I might have not experienced it but I talked to people that had been through it but they didn’t have the confidence to share it with other people,” Kestner told ABC News today during a visit to Steinway & Sons showroom in New York City. “I was crying when I was writing it. … It’s a really profound song.”
Kestner penned down the song 12 months back but recently posted it on YouTube. She had to make do with makeshift equipment for the recording.
The song has garnered acclaim in the form of over six million viewers from 178 nations around the world. Molly is famous by now. The teen queen has even got accolades from Jordin Sparks.
Kestner has expressed her feelings by saying that she never expected to see such fame. She was just doing her own thing. The love and respect is entirely a surprise for Kestner. She only began taking piano lessons a year ago.
“I wasn’t thinking, ‘Oh, this could be a huge hit,’” Kestner said. “It was another song I was recording. … That was my first take.”
Molly has written over 12 songs up until now and posted them in the folds of cyberspace. She admits that she never thought she would have such a huge and indelible impact one day via her meager efforts.
She is currently overwhelmed by the ostentation and is taking things normally as they come. But the public knows that she has covered new material in this bureaucratic age where even the family is a fractured institution where child abuse is quite common.
