Phone will land in the UK, France, and Europe

Motorola fans in the US have been able to get their mitts on the Moto X smartphone from Motorola for a while now. Fans of Motorola devices in Europe and the UK weren’t so lucky. Word has surfaced that Motorola is now bringing the Moto X smartphone to the UK, Germany, and France for the first time.

The smartphone will hit the countries in unlocked form for £380 or 399 euros SIM free. That means there will be no contract required for plans with this phone since it has no subsidy. The phone initially launched in the US, Canada, and Latin America. The phone will be available from multiple retailers in the UK.

The white version of the phone will be an exclusive to Phones 4U for the first three months. The phone will be offered in black and white colors in Germany from a number of retailers. It will run the Android 4.4.2 OS when it launches.

“At Motorola our roots are deep in mobile hardware — we invented mobile communications,” said Motorola Mobility UK vice president and general manager Andrew Morley. “Now, as a Google company, we’ve become the kind of company that can build a 4G smartphone like Moto X. It fuses our history of mobile innovation with the best of Google mobile services.”
