Paul Reubens will once again play his legendary Pee-Wee Herman role in a new movie that starts shooting in 2015. Jude Apatow produces the new Pee-Wee Herman movie that Paul Reubens co-wrote with Paul Rust.
TheWrap reports that according to sources the new Pee-Wee Herman movie will not be in cinemas. The movie will go straight to Netflix, which would be another major coup by Netflix. The service needs big movie hits in 2015 to battle the new HBO streaming service.

Paul Reubens retired Pee-Wee Herman in the 90s and only revived him for late night show appearances and also a Broadway show. The Pee-wee Herman character is best known for two TV series and an movie in 1980s. The childlike Pee-wee Herman character started as a stage act featured in an HBO special in 1981. This led to the first Pee-Wee Herman movie titled “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” in 1985. After the movie the Pee-wee’s Playhouse children’s series can that aired on CBS from 1986 to 1991.
