Online retailer NewEgg has leaked the release date of Windows 10. It is August 31st.
Microsoft has revealed a lot of details about Windows 10. The only thing the company kept secret is the release date. Now NewEgg has leaked the Windows 10 release date in early listings of Windows 10 OEM versions.
UPDATE: Microsoft announces Windows 10 Release Date: July 29th.
Again there will be multiple Windows 10 versions. Windows 10 Professional and Windows 10 Home. The Windows 10 Professional OEM will sell for $149.99 and the Windows 10 Home version has a $109.99 price-tag. As Microsoft already said, upgrading from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 is free.
ZDNet spotted the Windows 10 listings on NewEgg by just searching for it. NewEgg has not even cared yet to remove the Windows 10 listings. They can be still found here.
The report also points out that NewEgg also leaked Windows 8 back in 2012. Looks like the retailer did not get much heat from Microsoft back then, else they would have avoided leaking the Windows 10 release date.
Microsoft announced Windows 10 officially in January. Windows 10 will be a major break through for Microsoft. For the first time any hardware will run the same OS. Windows 10 will be on Virtual Reality Systems (HoloLens), Desktops, Tablets, Smartphones and even on IoT devices. Microsoft believes strongly in Windows 10 and predicts that their will be one billion devices running Windows 10 within two to three years.
